2. Visiting the website
The website at akv-us-tax.com is hosted by STRATO GmbH, Otto-Ostrowski-Straße 7, 10249 Berlin, Germany. Page requests involve processing your IP address, time of access, requested files, and browser, operating-system and connection information. This is necessary to provide and secure the website. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR; our legitimate interest is reliable and secure operation.
STRATO retains IP addresses for security purposes for up to seven days. Customer access logs remain available for six weeks; according to the provider, IP addresses in those logs are anonymized.
The website itself sets no cookies and uses no analytics or advertising trackers.
3. Contacting us
For inquiries by email or telephone, we process your contact details, message contents and necessary communication data to handle your request. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(b) GDPR for pre-contractual inquiries, otherwise Article 6(1)(f) GDPR based on our legitimate interest in answering inquiries. Providing information is voluntary; without sufficient contact and request details, we may be unable to respond.
The quick check processes your selections only in your browser. The contact form currently does not transmit entries; you send an email draft yourself through your email application.
For the waiting list, we use your name and email address to provide the requested notification about the firm’s launch and client engagements, based on your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR). These data are deleted after notification or withdrawal unless another retention ground applies.
Inquiries are deleted once they have been handled and further retention is no longer necessary. Statutory retention requirements and necessary retention for establishing or defending legal claims remain applicable.
4. Recipients and international processing
We use IT providers in the European Economic Area and the United States for hosting, email, and cloud-based text and communication services. They may process contact, message and technical data necessary for their services, including in the United States or other countries outside the EEA. The providers identify adequacy decisions, including the EU-US Data Privacy Framework for certified US recipients, and EU standard contractual clauses as transfer mechanisms. Information about the specific recipients, destination countries and applicable safeguards, including copies of those safeguards, is available from our privacy contact.
5. Your rights
Subject to the GDPR, you have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing and data portability. You may withdraw consent at any time with effect for the future.
Right to object: You may object at any time to processing under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR on grounds relating to your particular situation. We stop that processing unless compelling legitimate grounds or legal claims justify continuing.
You may complain to a data protection authority, particularly where you live, work or believe an infringement occurred. Our competent authority is the Bavarian State Office for Data Protection Supervision. Where Swiss data protection law applies, you also have the rights provided under that law; the authority is the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner.
